David Weber

David Weber is of counsel to the firm and heads up our regulatory enforcement practice. Until 2013, David was the Assistant Inspector General for Investigations at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). As such, he was the Commission’s chief investigator. His notable cases include Bernard L. Madoff and R. Allen Stanford, the two largest Ponzi schemes in U.S. history.

Prior to joining the SEC, Attorney Weber served as Supervisory Counsel and a Chief of Enforcement at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC).

He also served 10 years in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) as Special Counsel for Enforcement. David also served as a special Department of Justice Trial Attorney handling Treasury Department cases.

David Weber’s experience in the banking enforcement is unmatched.

Since leaving government service, David is a full professor at the University of Maryland in College Park. We are happy to have him working with us on a flexible time basis for serious financial cases.
